More Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest

Hello Music Lovers, oooo things are speeding up as we round the corner and head into the final week of prep. It sure was heart lifting to see an above-the-fold article in this morning's Wisconsin State Journal. We also are getting the final press of a recording of last Feb's gypsy fest featuring The Hot Club of Detroit, Harmonious Wail, Swing Gitan with Alfonso Ponticelli, Robin Nolan Trio and the Caravan Gypsy Swing Ensemble. Midwest Gypsy Swing Festival

Hi All, this is my very first blog. I have been adding news to www.wail.com for a while now but just got picked up and thrown into blog world. So what a great place to start - I want to get the word out about the upcoming Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest Friday Aug 22 and Sat Aug 23, '08. Featuring The Hot Club of Detroit, Gonzalo Bergara with Kevin Nolan, Alfonso Ponticelli with violinist extraordinaire Tony Ballog, Twin Cities Hot Club, The Gypsy Rhythm Project, and Harmonious Wail. The Detroit boys tore it up at the Midwinter Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest last Feb and Alfonso is a Madison favorite by now - The Gypsy Rhythm Project is Chicago virtuoso gypsy jazz violinist Steve Gibons' Balkan Gypsy Jazz band - featuring an accordian and a cymbalem player. The Twin Cities Hot Club is already a favorite of the Lindy Hop and Swing dance scene in the midwest and they along with the Hot Club of Detroit will each do a set in the dance tent - new for this year.
